The conference is made possible by the students and professionals who generously take the time to submit and present their scientific findings to our membership. Only standing oral presentations must be at least 60-minutes in length to be considered for the conference.

You must register to attend the conference and present your material, but authors are not required to be onsite to present. Authors may present via ZOOM.

There are many benefits to a virtual platform, including reduced cost, participation from anywhere in the world, and access to all conference content, as every formal session will be recorded. We are confident that we can come together effectively as a community in the same way we did last year to celebrate, educate, and connect with one another. We plan to offer more social time and interactive sessions, without sacrificing educational content. Our first ever virtual event in 2020 was a success with over 400 participants world-wide. We expect the attendance to be even greater this year, since we have more time to get the word out!

We anticipate the schedule being released on May 3, 2021. As usual, there will be plenty of high-caliber presentations and Continuing Education (CE) credits will be offered, though we won’t know the exact number until the schedule is finalized. For reference, last year there were 24 CEs.

The need for mental health care is growing exponentially, particularly due to the direct and indirect impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The professionals of ISNR need to be prepared to meet this need. Join in the Annual Conference to learn from the top professionals in the fields of neuroregulation and discuss how we can best serve our clients.

This year’s conference registration fee includes live and on-demand access to:

This year, the NRBS would like to invite you to join our friends at Northeast Region Biofeedback Society (NRBS) for their 46th Annual International Conference on January 22-23, 2021.  This VIRTUAL conference will be on Neuromodulation and Interventions for Trauma in the Time of Coronavirus.

Together with our experts, we will focus on the latest research into the effects of trauma on the body and the brain, as well as psychophysiological interventions. We will learn about neurological and physiological underpinnings of trauma symptoms and discuss how therapeutic interventions can positively impact those with a history of trauma.

About 30 days ago, our organization took a step forward and hosted our first virtual conference. Instead of shying away from the challenge that 2020 brought us, our board of directors doubled down on our community and we pivoted. We all had reservations, no one could say for sure how well received this pivot would be by our sponsors, our presenters and most of all, our conference attendees. To say the least, it felt risky. We all would have understood if ISNR decided not to host an annual conference given the context of COVID-19. Yet, we all know that real leaders don’t back down from challenges; they focus on solutions and keep moving forward. Real leadership is often most apparent during difficult seasons, not the best of times. I want to personally thank the Board of Directors for showing grit and bringing our community closer during what can only be described as an unprecedentedly difficult season.

The virtual event was a smashing success. We were able to leverage a 3-D platform called 6Connex to make the conference feel cohesive and professional. The number of compliments from attendees on the quality and ease of the conference was only surpassed by the actual engagement of our presenters. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of submissions; we were able to host 22 plenary sessions, 6 keynote speakers, and 22 workshops. Our total number of attendees rivaled our in-person conference at 402 and we now feel more confident in implementing a hybrid option to grow the international engagement in the coming years. In 2020, almost 20% of our attendees were from outside the United States and we had 22 different countries represented overall.

I’d like to congratulate our community on taking a risk on each other and pursuing excellence in the face of many great challenges.

We are already gearing up for the 2019 Annual Conference! This year is going to be a lot of fun in Denver and we should have wonderful weather in September! The registration site will be open this coming Monday; make sure to reserve your early bird registration to maximize your savings!

We already have a stellar line up of Keynote speakers for this year, including 2 international lecturers Oren Shriki, PhD and Eddy J. Davelaar, PhD. We also have Jay Gunkelman, Paul Wand, MD, Roger DeBeus, PhD, and Todd Coleman, PhD joining the lineup. Look for our Speaker Spotlights over the next few months in our newsletters, email blasts, and social media posts that will highlight the details of each presenter and their work.

Denver has many things to offer our attendees beyond the educational experience at the conference. As we approach the conference, we will send out more specific details regarding the events near the hotel in September.

This year we added two new agenda items that were well received, including the Invited Panel and the Connections Brunch. During the panel, many wonderful nuggets of information were shared as Dr. Leslie Sherlin interviewed three talented, successful clinicians (Silvia Costales, Dr. Amber Fasula, Sebern Fisher) on their day-to-day experience using neurofeedback. We plan to incorporate this panel again next year, please feel free to send us any panelist suggestions. The Connections Brunch was a valuable time for our membership to discuss ways to build our professional community and the ISNR organization. The discussion points will be shared with both the Board of Directors and the membership soon.

If you enjoyed your experience at the conference in Glendale, please share your experiences with those who could not attend.
